Golmud, China

It's day one on our way to Lhasa, Tibet-

This is the Gobi Desert-



More road signs-




They're building a new railway.  I can't imagine how deep the piles must be in the sand.  It goes on forever-



We passed this huge salt flat-



This wind horse is used by Tibetan people for prayer.  They write their wishes on the flags and when the wind blows, their wishes go to Buddha.  Notice our truck on the right-


Here is tonight's bushcamp at Golmud-


Our Tibetan guide is arriving late this evening, coming from Lhasa via train.  We'll pick him up in the morning and be on our way!
