Driving from Bahir Dar to Addis, Ethiopia, December 4-5, 2015

Bahir Dar is on Lake Tana and it's often referred to as the Ethiopian Riviera.  There were some beautiful and interesting plants in our camp site such as a banana tree in bloom, amaryllis and a funny tree with huge seed pods-

Most people in Ethiopia do not own a vehicle.  Tuk tuks are cheap and everywhere-

We crossed the White Nile-

 and it's valley-

going from 1061 meters to 2500 meters.  It took about 4 hours because of the rough and steep road-

Driving through a village, all of a sudden the street was white.  I'm not sure what the celebration was about-

More flora along the way-

Typical Ethiopia-

Harvest time-

Ethiopians work really hard-

and they walk miles like this!

We're spending 2 full days in Addis Ababa and I'm looking forward to the sightseeing and my own hotel room!
