Dune 45 - Naute Dam, Namibia, February 24, 2016

We were on the road by 5:30, hoping to catch the sunrise at Dune 45 which is so called because it is 45 km from the entrance gate at Sossusvlei-




It was a fair climb to the top - two steps forward and one step back but on the way down I gained half a step with every one sliding in the sand.  The Beast looks pretty small-

Driving into the Naute Dam site we encountered a storm with a bit of lightning, wind and rain.  They can sure use the moisture-


Looking forward to Fish River Canyon tomorrow!
