Day 7 - Alto do Poio to Portomarin, España, October 7, 2018

What a great sleep after such a cold and hard day!  This morning was very windy and cold but at least we had 15 km all downhill.  Along the way-

We stopped at Triacastela for coffee and to warm up.  My hands were so numb I could hardly feel them.  There are more and more people walking as we get closer to Santiago.  I visited with a woman who grew up in Estevan but now lives in Peachland, B.C.  Continuing on, we came to Samos to see the Monastery of Saint Julian of Samos which is an active Benedictine monastery that was founded in the 6th century.  The current building is from 1951 when it was rebuilt after a fire-

Everything along the way is related to the Camino-

Saint James-

A pumpkin patch in Sarria-

Many roofs have slate tiles for shingles-

We climbed a lot and had a great view of the valley.  It warmed up and we had a good tailwind for most of the afternoon.  I'm getting stronger and riding better every day but I still don't like it-

Chris had a flat back tire so I learned how to change it.  Sure hope I don't get one but Bicigriini, the company I booked my bike through sent two tire tubes so I'm well equipped-

After a long descent, we crossed the Rio Miño-

and arrived in Portomarin.  It was a good day - 61.58 km, and we've only got 94.7 km left to do in 3 days!
