Palmarin, Senegal, December 6, 2018

Our day started with a 5 hour excursion in a pirogue in a river and mangrove area.  Clarissa, April, Leanne, Brad, Nicola, Grant, Nienke, Rhona, Victoria and Brian-

We saw pelicans-

and herons-

who slowly flew away-

We stopped at a place where they shuck oysters which they gather in the mud in the mangroves when the tide recedes-

We also stopped for a swim, then headed back, passing the fish market.  Lots of fisherman had just come in-

They are very proud of their boats, painting them bright colors-

The garbage everywhere is absolutely disgusting but the goat doesn't seem to mind-

Back at the camp, I washed most of my clothes and spent the afternoon using the weak wifi.  We're on the road again tomorrow, making our way to La Gambie!
