Phnom Penh, Cambodia
I had a slow morning and finally got moving about noon. I walked by the National Museum but did not go in-
I’m kind of museumed out at the moment!
I carried on and came to the Royal Palace. I did not pay the $10 US to enter it either. I’ve seen enough temples and palaces as well.
I ended up walking a big loop and by the time I got back to my hotel I thought I was going to faint it was so hot!
Along the way-
Moonlight Pavillion-
Wat Botum Park-
Drying buffalo-
Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech-
Independence Monument-
Constitution Monument-
Hard at work-
Entering the alley to get to my hotel-
Last night there was just as much garbage but at noon it was gone. When I got back at 2 pm, there was more. Gross! Thank goodness they pick it up nightly because in this heat it would be bubbling! What a horrible job!
I couldn’t wait to get in the pool to cool off. Lupper was fresh spring rolls and a piña colada-
except they added some pink flavouring to it and it was disgusting. I sent it back.
Views from the pool in the daylight show the Royal Palace-
and the skyline looking south-
I’ve booked a tour tomorrow morning to The Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. I hope my guide is better than the last two have been!
