Healing
I had a good night with a few interruptions but I fell back to sleep very quickly. I get eyedrops every two hours and my blood pressure and temperature checked every six hours. They give me pain meds too - intravenously and orally as well as IV antibiotics but that’s stopping. My pain is a dull ache and I have a lot of bruising.
My eyesight has improved significantly but I still saw the ophthalmologist. She was pleased and I will see her again on Wednesday.
My surgeon, Dr. Boy - that’s his nickname, came and removed my drain but much to his surprise it bled a lot- all over the pillow and bed. It must have been plugged because fluid was no longer entering the jar but obviously there was more blood that needed to come out-
Physio came and we did the exercises. They’re supposed to be passive which means using my left hand to support my right arm but I want to speed things up so I was just doing it with my right arm alone. Dr. Boy freaked out because that is too much at this time. Whoops!
Watermelon worked the last 2 nights and now she has her “day off” which means she skips 2 shifts and will be here tomorrow morning. So much for time off! Today’s nurse is named Ice or in Thai - N̂ả k̄hæ̆ng.
The meals have been good but the novelty of this place has worn off. I’m a bit frightened to be discharged because I worry what if something goes wrong. I used to feel the same way when Nico would be discharged but everything would always be OK so it’s just a matter of trusting.
