It was a rainy day! For whatever reason, I woke up at 2 am- not tired so I was up for the day. It rained, actually poured most of the daylight hours and a lot of the night. It was forecast so I wasn’t surprised. I spent the day planning the rest of my trip and except for 2 small things- my bus from Kampot to Phnom Phen and my flight or bus from Hoi An to either Annoying or Sapa are all that is left to book until Match 27! It feels very good to know where I’ll be staying and the tours I’ll be doing. A blogger in Taiwan actually frightened me with his rant about everything being constantly booked so I made sure I will get to see what I want to see! Now without the possibility of my own wheels, I have to rely on public transport and that is not always fun so I have booked a lot of day tours which I am fine with now but once in Taiwan when I’m listening to the Chinese natter on and on, I’ll be wondering why I put myself through that! Oh well. Organization is not a bad thing.
Tomorrow I fly via Bangkok,Thailand to Siem Reap, Cambodia where I’ve seen the weather is +40. Wow!
On a positive note, both my visas for Cambodia and Vietnam have been approved. Visas piss me off because they are nothing but a tax grab. Canada makes those countries pay to enter so it’s retaliation. Visas are just hoops to jump through but you have to be careful because there are many sites where you can buy your evisa but the cheapest one is always the government site. Some sites charge more than double for the same service!
I had bacon and eggs for breakfast and a delicious burger for lupper, then spent the afternoon on my balcony reading, listening to the rain.
P.S. Something happened in the night because I woke up and my arm truly feels a lot better. I guess it’s healing. It’s 3 weeks today since my crash but the surgery didn’t happen until Friday night. The scar is looking better too - it’s almost as if it couldn’t breathe under the bandage!
