George Town, Penang, Malaysia

We left Koh Samui for the Thai/Malaysian border and spent the night in Donnock, Thailand.

I had a salad at a street stall-

Too funny!

We crossed into Malaysia

quite painlessly and stopped to change money and for coffee.  Here's Brenda's hot chocolate-
.

Pretty cute!

Today was also our third last day on the truck!

This has been 'home' for 5 1/2 months.  No one has had a seat, per se, but I pretty much sat here the whole time- second from the library on the right, sunny side-

I'm going to miss the truck and all of these people: Marianne-

Jan and Tim-

Corinne and Jill-

Dennis and Dave-

Melissa and James-

Greg and Alison-

Jean and Shaz-

Brenda and Adam-

and Will

The Penang bridge is 13.5 km long and connects the Malaysian mainland to the island of Penang at George Town.

This is interesting because 61.3% of Malaysia practices Islam and only 9.2 % are Christian.  In Canada, 67% are Christian and 3.2% practice Islam.  This Christmas tree is downtown, outside a huge shopping mall.  The sign below is wishing everyone a Merry Christmas-

Saying Merry Christmas doesn't seem to be an issue here-

More interesting signs -  I'm staying in room 310!!!

Tomorrow will be a day spent exploring Penang, maybe on bicycle!
