Nizwa to Bush Camp near Salalah, Oman    November 18, 2022

Today is a long drive day with the intention to get us close to Salalah which is 800 km from Nizwa.  What hasn’t been considered is the speed of the coach in comparison to the truck:  117 km/hour to 80.  Needless to say, we could have easily done it in one day but we are bush camping tonight and arriving tomorrow and I don’t mind one bit.

Along the way-

It is so desolate and depressing.  We stopped at a town for lunch - it’s depressing-  all men around, supermarket closes at prayer time, one restaurant too.  I’m glad I brought my lunch but it doesn’t taste as good today as it did last night.  There are private booths in the restaurants where people sit on the mat on the floor-

We found a place to camp, had supper and I’m in my tent at 7 pm, reading-

Tomorrow we are stopping at a frankincense forest before heading to a beach and then to our hotel which is connected to a large shopping mall.  Looking forward to it!
