Khiva, Bukhara, Uzbekistan

Leaving Khiva, we drove through the market.  Brooms anyone?

Some of the highway has dunes of sand right on the shoulder-


We had to stop at this bridge, which crosses the River Oxus, to let the train go first.  Alexander the Great was warned not to cross this river and it's one of the longest in the world at 1437 km.  We will see it again along the Pamir Highway-




We arrived in Bukhara and will spend 2 nights here.  Our hotel is conveniently located in the old town, across the street from a couple of bars :)
