Day 8 - Portomarin - Melide España, October 8, 2018

I had another great sleep and after a breakfast of eggs and bacon, we were on our way, but not before seeing the church, or at least the outside-

Portomarin is in a beautiful valley.  We were looking across the river to the hills we had just cycled from-

We decided we really ddin't have to go too crazy today, considering we only have 100 km to go and 3 days to do it in.  We left at 10 but it was still pretty chilly.  The scenery along the way was great-

It was an up and down kind of day, unfortunately, but I made it and only had to push a couple of times.  There were a lot more pelegrinos than we're used to-

We biked through a few small villages and that was really nice, except the people were talking so loud. Believe it or not, it was nice to get back onto the highway.

More decorated crosses-

We made it to Melide which meant we'd come 40.57 km-

We checked into an albergue with 57 beds in one big room.  We were given a pillow case and mattress cover made of interfacing material and that was it.  Thank goodness I brought a blanket.  The bed cost $9-

It was a beautifully warm afternoon so we went for a drink and eventually supper of octopus-

and grilled peppers-

Looking forward to a slow day of 30 some km tomorrow!
