Bushcamp north of Tabou to Bushcamp close to Gagnoa, Côte d'Ivoire, January 24, 2019

I had the best sleep ever!  I love writing that!  We were on the road early  and I was riding shotgun with Will.  Along the way, trucks loaded with rubber were waiting to unload-

We came across an overturned semi-

And they were trying to get it upright using a winch-

without success.  As if!  Eventually they opened the road and we were once again on our way.  The day was spent driving on pothole filled roads making our way to Abidjan.  We set up a bushcamp near a swampy place with a full choir- frogs, crickets and really, who the hell knows what else where I'm hoping to be lulled to sleep!  A local came along and said it wasn't good to sleep in the bush, that we should go to the nearby town where they have beds and electricity.  He kept a very stern face as he said over and over that it wasn't a good idea.  Then he realized we were tourists, I'm not sure who else he thought we might be and had the hugest smile and laugh and left us alone.  The people you meet along the way!
