Eat, eat, eat! October 25, 2015

I think I died and went to heaven!  Kanafeh is the best dessert ever!  It's a Levantine (an historical geographical word referring to a large area in the eastern Mediterranean) cheese pastry.  First, the pastry is kneaded with ghee, then covered with Levantine cheese and baked on a big copper pan called a sidr, until the cheese is stretchy, like mozzarella and the pastry is a dark brown.  Then, as if that's not enough, it's smothered in cashews, pistachios and hot syrup!  

I had two kinds: one with wiry shredded wheat and the other without.  OMG!  No calories are included-

Supper was a roll?? - a pita stuffed with turkey, cheese, lettuce and tomato, then grilled like a panini-
