Cheetah Park, February 17, 2016

We spent a couple of hours in Etosha this morning.  It's a pretty barren place-

And believe it or not, we didn't see anything!

Interesting signage-

Rather than shoot threatening cheetah, farmers bring them to the Otjitotongwe Cheetah Park for safe keeping. Currently they have 3 'house pets: 4, 7 and 11 years old-

They like to lick and their tongue is quite rough-

They are very cute-

Dougie too!

It was feeding time- zebra was on the menu-

Then we went into a pasture to feed the 'wild' cheetah-

There were 9 just hanging around-

A huge monitor lizard was in the base of this tree.  The cheetah thought about attacking but seemed to think it was a snake so stayed away-

At feeding time, Marco threw a chunk of zebra to the group.  The 'winner' ran away with it to eat in peace-

Looking forward to Spitzkoppe tomorrow!
