I had a good day considering it’s my 62nd birthday. I had a lazy morning, then went for breakfast in the hotel. The scrambled eggs weren’t nearly as good as the Rosita’s but I did have my first mole. Mole is a Oaxacan specialty sauce made using chilies, ground nuts, sometimes raisins, tomatoes and chocolate. It has a spicy, smokey and earthy sweet tones. It’s meant to be put on meat, bread or rice etc. I should have put it on my eggs but I just like eating it by itself-
I spent a few hours at the pool-
where I visited with a man from Edmonton who was quite prepared to tell me his life story so I vamoosed back to my chair! Later I went to the beach and visited with 3 women travelling together- one from Victoria and 2 from Calgary.
For my birthday supper I went to Viena, an Austrian restaurant that was recommended and had weiner schnitzel which was very good-
Once home, I went back to the pool. I catch a bus to Coatzacoalcos at 9:45 a.m. via Salina Cruz. Time to leave the beach!
