I was sick in the night - throwing up and diarrhea. It wasn’t good; it must have been something I ate or the glass of tap water I had at a restaurant but you would think they wouldn’t have given it to me if it wasn’t safe to drink. Anyway, I stayed close to my hotel room and had a restful day. I don’t know what would have happened if we had been bush camping when all of that was going on. What a nightmare that would have been.
I did manage to go for breakfast but it wasn’t the best one we have had - (we have had some absolutely amazing ones) and I did venture out to a Lebanese place for lupper. I had kebbeh which is kind of like a meatball with a crispy shell made from bulgur wheat, onions and finely ground beef. Then, the shell is stuffed with spicy beef and pine nuts. It’s baked or fried and served with a sauce like tzatziki-
I also had lahmeh bi ajin with pomegranate molasses. It’s ground beef with spices on flat bread and delicious-
The rest of the day was spent resting, playing online Scrabble and planning the part of my trip after Israel. I’m hoping to feel better in the morning so I can see a few sights in Manama.
